Sadly Tartini's Red House is now painted an anaemic cream colour and the salt shop on the ground floor is currently) closed pending refurbishment.

Given that so many people die from eating too much salt I'm surprised that shops selling this questionable molecule are permitted to operate in the EU. Slovenia is otherwise so civilised and the Slovenian cats are so furry.

We specially visit on 8 Nov. The guy behind the desk are unfriendly and unprofessional as an employee. We came in when non guest in store but only us,there’s no welcome greetings or any product introducing,he only talked when we asked(just few) ,and answered with porker face of sitting on seats all the time,During we looks around in shop about 15 min. And we still bought some pack of salt,he drop it on desk heavily after packs in a pepper bag!It’s so regrettable , such a Nice brand with traditional and historical have that image of front line to customers.

I absolutely agree with previous reviews...this is such a nice shop, at such a gorgeous location, but completely brought down by the unprofessional service. No greetings from the guy at the cash desk, no smile, no thank you, he does not even look at you when you are paying for the goods. I know he's probably annoyed with all the tourists coming in, but it's his job. The things there are lovely, I just had to buy 1 soap, but was leaving with a bitter feeling...maybe other employees there are better and you will be lucky.

A very nice Shop with superfine products but very unfriendly staff working there. No interest in selling expensive regional products. We love the salt so we bought it anyway but it would have been a better experience if the girl was friendly.

The store is very nice and the products have a very good presentation (maybe a little bit expensive).Unfortunately, the seller was a little bit cold". She doesn't welcome you or give you information about the products.The service can be improved.The building of the store is also very nice."

Both bath salt with rosmarine and pealing! Really nice offer and package of all products! You can find something for you but also for gift! Friendly staff work here!

This house used to be painted red and it was a landmark, an exclamation mark that made the whole Tartini plazza special and recognizable. Piran was known for being as it is with THAT particular house painted red. By painting it mediocre beige they blended it into surroundings but at the same time they destroyed part of Piran's unique look. It's like painting a different smile on Mona Lisa so that people would stop talking about it so much and admire the rest of the picture as well. Absolutely stupid. Must start a petition to paint it red again.
