Located within the Triglav National Park, Mount Vogel is one of the most important peaks in Slovenia. Usually in winter it hosts a large ski area but I went there in the summer and it was an opportunity for an excursion into nature.We took the cable car to get there (28 euros) but you can also get there on foot. In any case, the view is magnificent: you can see the whole of Lake Bohinj from above with Mount Triglav in front, a wonderfully suggestive feeling at 1540 meters. From there there are various paths to explore to get lost in nature. A place suitable for couples but also for families with children and groups of friends, there are llamas, goats, various statues and many places to take beautiful souvenir photos. Trekking is not easy especially if you want to go uphill but it is certainly a good experience.

Quite disappointing experience. Before we bought the pass we checked that most of the slopes are open. That was confirmed by the big board next to the entrance to the cable car. When we reached the top we realised that only 3 out 17 slopes were functional. And after that around 11 am they closed one or the slope leaving lots of people skiing on two slopes with the distance not exceeding 1 km in total. In short for a full price you receive just a small portion of the service.

The highest slope - Sirja - is always closed. :(
