Lake Bled Weddings - wedding planner Petra Starbek

I worked with Petra of Lake Bled Weddings in Fall 2022 to plan a surprise engagement for my now fiancé in Lake Bled, Slovenia. I am based in the USA whereas Petra is based in Slovenia. Despite the time difference and physical separation, Petra was highly communicative and easy to work with, putting my mind at ease while I worked through planning our trip and securing the engagement ring. Petra was available at all hours, via phone, text, or email, to discuss our plans to ensure the engagement was as perfect as possible. Petra sourced our photographer, flowers, and scouted locations for our engagement photo session. She did all of this after truly getting to know me, and understanding what I thought my fiancé would want. When it came to the day of, Petra had everything taken care of and allowed for me to simply focus all my love and attention towards my fiancé. She allowed for me to enjoy the day while she took care of all of the details. I cannot thank Petra enough for all she did for us. I'll try to do my very best to keep this short and sweet, but I could write a whole essay on Petra and how awesome she is. :)I’m a makeup artist and hairstylist and have been working together on events with Petra from Lake Bled Wedding - Storija Weddings for quite a few years. STYLE WORSHIP:Your planner is the maestro of your event - you MUST be obsessed with their portfolio! A frighteningly common error people make when choosing a planner, since they only think they take care of timelines and spreadsheets. Your event is not an Excel document. It is a real life, a live experience for you and your nearest and dearest. Make sure the person who is responsible for that vision suits yours properly.3. FLARE:Make sure the planner you hire has flare for doing things differently and can create FOR YOU, instead of following some prehistoric rule book of existing traditions or what “needs” to-be. It is about making new traditions and it being what YOU WANT it to be. Creativity, personality, and passion should not be overlooked.4. WORD OF MOUTHWhat are people saying? Ask the planner to supply plenty of references, read their reviews online, reach out personally to clients and listen to their own experiences. Will it align with what you want yours to be? I'm extremely happy about my decision to work with Petra for my most important day. Since I live in abroad and never been wedding venue, it was not easy for me to prepare the wedding from afar, but she made it easy. She helped me in every regard - vendor recommendation, planning, designing, preparing stationary, and etc. And she always takes time to have a meeting, give advice, and provide references with her experience & expertise. Especially, she has a lot of experiences in wedding planning around the Lake Bled, so she has expertise in this region. As wedding day comes closer, there are too many things to decide and prepare, so it is easy to miss things, but she was keen in details and she was very responsible on wedding day as well. WOW! Where to even begin to try to describe how amazing Petra and her company Storija Weddings is. We just finished our four day fairytale wedding at Lake Bled and it truly can only be described as absolute perfection. Petra planned and executed an event with 70 guests from the US, more than a dozen vendors, five locations and complex logistics. One fact about Petra is that she will go above and beyond to address any issues that may arise on your wedding day and they will be addressed without you even knowing. She is a true professional and incredibly talented at what she does. Even more so, Petra is kind, fun, and so easy to work with and has become a friend that we plan to keep in touch with for the rest of our lives. Our friends only spent a few hours with Petra but absolutely loved her and brought her out to the dance floor which was just incredible. Choosing to work with Petra was THE BEST decision we have made for our wedding.We asked for her help in a period when we were having a really hard time organizing our wedding in Bled (the long distance, the slovene language barrier...), and since the first day she proved how indispensable she was.
