Ptuj

Ptuj is the oldest town in Slovenia and it is a truly unique place. The old city center is beautifully preserved and it is full of historic buildings, churches, and museums. The castle above the city offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Ptuj is also home to the world famous Kurentovanje carnival, which is a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage. The Kurent is a pagan figure who is said to drive away winter and bring in spring. He is a colorful and noisy character, and he is sure to make you smile.Ptuj is a clean, safe, and friendly city. The people are welcoming and the food is delicious. Ptuj city center is something else with there old streets and buildings. Flowers in every window. With many shops, restaurants and coffee places to choose from☕️ the roads are all in cobblestone which makes it so unique. A beautiful place to visit.♥️♥️♥️

Ptuj is a beautiful town with an imposing castle. The clock tower only has clocks on the 3 sides not facing the castle because they didn’t want to contribute for it.

Najstarejše slovensko mesto. Leži ob reki Dravi. Nad mestom se bohoti čudoviti grad z obzidjem.Mesto je znano po pustnem karnevalu, ki ga obišče vedno več obiskovalcev iz domovine in tujine. Na karnevalu je najimenitnejša maska naš kurent. Na karnevalu sodelujejo lokalne skupine, predstavijo pa se tudi skupine iz tujine. Letos je sodelovalo okrog 800 kurentov.
