Exploring Slovenia

Wow wow wow. It's taken me a week to write this review because I've been struggling to find words that will do it justice.I did two day trips with Neja - my first two via ferratas! The first had some of the most dramatic views I've ever seen with jagged mountains and deep valleys in every direction, and the other was an exhilarating climb in southern Slovenia with overhangs, cliffs and epic views over the wine region.Not only did she make me feel safe and protected with my gear, but we also had a laugh (or two) and she shared knowledge about the Slovenian mountains and cultural points of interest.One of things that made the tour so enjoyable is her evident passion for hiking and climbing. And for me, as female climber, it was incredible to climb with a female guide in a small group of women.My only problem is that I didn't have time to do more trips! But I'll definitely be reaching out next time I'm back. I do a lot of climbing and hiking and Neja is the best mountain guide I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

We have been very happy about the service from Exploring Slovenia. My 12 year old son and I wanted to climb a mountain in Slovenia during our holiday. We wrote and asked about one trip not sure if we were able to do it. We got an honest answer and were recommended an easier hike to another mountain; Mala Mojstrovka. Also with a hike, climbing Via Ferrata and a peak with a stunning view.We communicated via e-mail a lot before hand - also because of bad weather conditions. Exploring Slovenia found the perfect and safe time of the day. I did a hike with Neja in June to see the flowering slopes of Golica. A beautiful hike with lovely views over both Slovenia and Austria, stunning green hills and mountain views and of course blankets of daffodils. Neja was experienced, encouraging and excellent company! Highly recommend if you are looking for a 5 star guide when visiting Slovenia!

We did the via ferrata to Prisojnik (actually more of an Alpine climb, because of exposed parts where you are not secured) with two families.Communication about the difficulty of the tour was really straightforward, and we decided to limit the number of participants to those that met the physical and mental requirements (including 4 teenagers btw).Guides of service were Luka and Marko, and they did an excellent job.The weather window was not ideal and we left at 5 (all picked up by Luka on location), both guides decided that due to weather risk a higher starting point would be the best choice. In the end we made it to the top through the famous 'window' and over the ridge.Climbing down we were surprised by early rain storms, so those last few hours became slippery and wet, but thanks to steady pace keeping and expert guidance we made it back.I can't thank our guides enough for a truly adventurous day in the Julian Alps

I recently traveled to Slovenia and went on a hiking trip with exploring Slovenia that left me in awe of the natural beauty that Slovenia has to offer. Our guide Neja was highly professional and made sure every step of the journey was memorable.The highlight of the trip was when they took us on a hike in the snow, and the sights that we got to see were absolutely breathtaking. The views that we got to see were so spectacular that they will stay with me for a lifetime.Neja handled every detail of the trip with excellence, from the transportation to the meals. She went above and beyond to make sure that we were safe, comfortable, and having a great time.All in all, I would highly recommend exploring slovenia adventure company to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience in beautiful Slovenia. The snow hike was truly the experience of a lifetime, and I can't wait to go back and see more of what this stunning country has to offer with the awesome Neja

We did the Double Lakes hike. Still can’t believe there was a path up what looked like a sheer cliff face from the car park. A great hike but much longer than advertised and much harder, but perhaps that’s age creeping up on us, we’re not the mountain goats of our 20’s & 30’s anymore.Neha was great to suggest we reorganise the hike to bring forward by a day due to the forecast bad weather. Thankfully we could be flexible as today you can’t see the mountains through the heavy rain!

Neja is an amazing genuine person! It was great doing the double lake trek with her. She knows in and out of Slovenia, guided us well as it was our first time doing a high intensity trek. She managed everything, kept up with our slow pace and even got us some yum food. She is a professional and would highly recommended doing treks in Slovenia with her. Very helpful!

I cannot recommend Neja and her company enough. I did two Triglav ascents with her guide colleagues (one with my parents) and, as an experienced hiker, can say that she is a rare find.She took care of everything, we just had to come to the meeting point. She is very responsive and full of advices. Don’t think twice, just go with her!

Spent a beautiful 2-day trip in the Triglav seven lakes valley with Exploring Slovenia and would have loved to do more! The landscapes were amazing! Neja was our guide and she is so kind and has an excellent knowledge of the area. I definitely recommend her. Thanks a lot Neja!

I spent the most memorable day of my travels through Slovenia with Neja hiking in the Julian Alps and would recommend anyone looking for a unique, tailored experience in this stunning part of the world to contact her.She was able to accommodate a very last minute request of mine for a hike, offering options and adjusting everything continuously to the weather forecast.The communication leading up and after the hike was easy and professional.We spent the day enjoying the spectacular views around Debela Peč, sharing a passion for wildflowers and eating our fill of wild berries.I left with amazing memories, having learnt so much about Slovenian mountains, local flora and fauna and knowing I will return for more.
