An impersonal experience to ruin your special occasionThe customer service was immovable, impersonal, and cold when trying to resolve issues that arose. Their communication regarding our issue was quite dismissive and failed to offer any accountability or compromise; and writing off everything to things outside their control. It was a simple issue and their process made it clear that they are unconcerned with the person. It demonstrated an all too common failure among businesses; a failure to remember that you are serving and collaborating with people who are coming to you to purchase an item to commemorate the best of times and the worst of times (in moments of loss); and that shortsighted focus on profit to the absolute exclusion of the people, the human beings you are working with is really disheartening and unsettling. The quality and policy issues were a concern, but their aloof and unaccountable approach is really what made the experience feel terrible and callous.Practically speaking: the quality was not as expected. It appeared, in person, more like fancy costume jewelry than fine jewelry to commemorate a special occasion. The photos as seen on the site also fail to provide ample and accurate profiles of the ring, which is really important!

My custom ring exceeded my expectations. The shop had quick, helpful responses and were very easy to work with. Not only did they assist me in customizing my center stone, but they also worked within my budget.The Capucinne team provided me with four 3d previews because I was very picky choosing the main stone setting. The ring is high quality, gorgeous and sparkly. But the way they treat their customers deserves extra praise. The rings I purchased from Capucinne were of OK quality. The sapphire they shipped me had a cloudy inclusion that was not captured in the pictures on their website. However, my major issue with Capuccine is their lack of transparency regarding import duties that the customer (at least one in the USA) is required to pay after purchase, but before receiving the items, and the fact that these duties effectively impose a high cost on returning the items. Capucinne should clearly list this tax in the customer's cart and at checkout. If they are not able to calculate the exact cost for the customer, they should at least note at checkout that it is a cost that the customer should research before checking out. They should also note that it may be costly and difficult to recoup this tax if the customer decides to return the item. It seems likely to me that Capucinne does not highlight these issues because they know customers already have concerns about ordering from overseas and this might turn customers away. Unless you are 100% sure you want the item they are selling and are willing to pay extra taxes when it arrives in your country, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

This ring is gorgeous. The buying process was so easy and I was able to pick out the stone that I wanted from so many options. The ring actually was delivered in 2 weeks and came the day before my birthday, I couldn't be happier.
