Hostel Cukrarna

3 adults stayed here during our time in Slovenia. I must say that as a first time Hostel user, Cukrarna has set the bar high! Nice rooms, fantastic service, and the location is perfect for Kranj.

For the price, this hostel is a great deal to stay in a beautiful, quaint town full of history. Myself, my husband and two kids shared a private room, but shared a toilet with other guests. The only thing I would say is that the room was a little hot. We had one fan, but it could use another fan or a ceiling fan. Overall great value, comfortable beds and amazing location.

The rooms and staff of this hostal is top notch stuff. The rooms for one, are really cheap and also very cute! I love the design of the place and everywhere is very clean, especially the bathrooms on each floor. Even though it's a shared bathroom it's spotless and that's a big plus for places like these. The staff was really nice and they even let us chill in the lobby before check in which was a big relief since the outside was so hot! Speaking of the outside, the views are great and I love the nature around the place. 11/10 for anyone who needs a place to crash and wants to have fun doing it!

Wonderful hostel in the heart of Kranj. We stayed in the private room with a private bathroom during our first stay and the room was very beautiful and clean. The view of the canyon was spectacular. I have stayed in some 4 star hotels which were not as nice.We also stayed in the 6 bed dorm and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Each person was allocated a very large locker.They have a small bar and cafe area downstairs which is well worth sitting in. They sell a selection beers, wines, pizzas, Slovenian Dessert Dumplings and ice creams. As well as gins and liquors. The prices are incredibly affordable and the view again is amazing.The staff and owners are incredibly friendly and will make your stay all the better.The only downside is there is a shortage of showering facilities. If you stay in any of the private rooms this won't be an issue. They have said they have plans to increase capacity in the future.

Really nice little place right in the middle of Kranj. The staff are friendly and laid back. There is a cafe downstairs that does coffees and Slovenian dumplings for breakfast. Also the seating area has a great view of the river valley next to the town. The only downside is that the place lacks air conditioning and double glazing, meaning it can get hot and noisy. However the price is so good that these are only minor qualms. If I went back to Kranj I wouldn't think twice about staying there again.

We go there for štruklji, a traditional Slovene dish. They have different options, all of them are delicious! The staff is very nice and friendly, and the views from the hostel are amazing. Our new favorite coffee place in Kranj
