Pred kratkim sem se iz radovednosti povzpel na razgledno pečino na kateri stoji hotel, nevedoč da še ni odprt in doživel hladen tuš.Ponavadi se na takšnih lokacijah nahaja lokal, kjer je dobrodošel vsak potencialni gost.Iz ploščati sem fotografiral razgled in sklenil da se po odprtju vrnem, nakar iz recepcije pride lastnik, ki me je obvestil naj ne motim njegove posesti. Opravičil sem se, nakar mi je pojasnil, da gre za ekskluziven hotel zaprtega tipa in še ošabno dodal, da kdor želi priti to pošteno plača, pa ima že vse rezervirano nekaj mesecev vnaprej.Zanima me ali se bo potencialnih domačih gostov branil tudi ob naslednji krizi, ko tujcev ne bo?Pa še to: Na mestu tega hotela za petičneže je v nekih drugih časih, ko so v ljudeh še videli bogastvo in potencial za kolektivni razvoj, stal mladinski center. Žal je zadnja leta propadal in vesel sem bil ko so na tem mestu začeli z novo zgodbo in nisem apriori proti zasebnim investicijam. Hotel res stoji na prekrasni lokaciji, česar pa se Občina Kranjska Gora očitno ne zaveda, saj bi sicer s prostorskimi akti določili, da mora del objekta ostati v javni sferi (npr. odprta restavracija + hotel, tako kot npr. Triangel v dolini).

Pravljica v realnosti. V zimskem času perfekcija. Neki tako lepega težko najdeš.

Chalet Sofija is a dream. From the breathtaking views, to the incredible, personalized service, to the food – the food! Eating at Chalet Sofija is like eating at a 5-star restaurant. The plates are prepared with such care and skill, you’ll be wowed. Each plate is a knockout. Alexandra and Pope are incredible cooks and incredible hosts. We stayed five nights for our honeymoon and we were blissfully happy. The chalet itself is a magical venue, well suited for relaxing -- there’s a small but perfectly sited infinity pool, a sauna, and again, those gorgeous views from the porch -- and equally well suited for exploring. We did a couple gorgeous hikes right from our door, one into the charming town of Kranjska Gora, and also a waterfall hike that was just a five minute drive to get to. Chalet Sofija gets our very highest recommendation. Thank you Alexandra and Pope!

One of the most exciting experiences you can find in Europe. The scenery, the venue, the service, the food - all of those things alone would be a reason to come back, imagine how impressive it is when you tie it back to a single experience. Any excuse you have to stay in Chalet Sofia is a good enough of an excuse to go.

If you’d like to stay in most amazing house(well,it’s like a private little hotel but even better!),with most amazing view and hosts and food,where you will enjoy every minute of your stay,spoil yourself in every way and rest your body and soul-this is the right place!!! Everything was perfect and beyond amazing! Photos don’t do it’s justice for sure.We didn’t know what to expect when we booked it without much planning and not knowing about the area as we’re on our road trip from Uk to Croatia.Saw the listing on Booking.com and the place looked exactly how we like and what we wanted for a while but couldn’t find elsewhere. Chalet sofija is nestled among the peaks of the Jura alps. Standing so grandly but so well blended in with the natural beauty around the mountains, we were blown away by it’s gorgeous architecture and tasteful decor and complete luxurious feel the moment we walked into the chalet. This is a super prime luxury property!When we arrived, we were greeted by the host and owner of chalet sofija Alessandra and her beloved dog Tracy. We have two dogs with us and they were delighted to have met new friends.The moment we walked in our jaws dropped by breathtaking view of the mountains with wide deck and infinity swimming pool which is heated 30 degree over looking the mountains and there are sauna and spa also looking over the magnificent view. Pope the owner and Alessandra definitely design so carefully and with no expense spared to make the most of benefits that the mountains give. There are big windows everywhere you’ll have panoramic view from every part of the chalet.Rooms- I almost cried when we walked into our room which also has panoramic view. it’s beyond my imagination how beautiful this huge room. Love how luxurious but at the same time you feel like you’re so close to nature. From the small amenities to super tech built in TV and remote controlled blinds system if necessary to have deep sleep.We also enjoyed fine dining experience by Pope who is renowned restauranteur in Slovenia. Breakfast & dinner both absolutely amazing we felt so pampered while we stayed. With it’s one of a kind view and style, I’m sure the season doesn’t matter! I can’t wait to go back there another season like winter would be amazing! We had totally relaxed couple of nights at the stunning place and feel so blessed that we got to experience what it seems like Slovenia’s finest hospitality. A huge thanks and respect to Pope and Alessandra and Tracy! We enjoyed our time with your place so much and looking forward to see you in the future!Oh and it has EC charging.

The hosts are absolutely delightful. They are really cool and open and take care of everyone in a very non intrusive but intimate way, food is stunning. Location is supreme.
