The best organic winery in the region!

Wow, what an experience visiting Sumenjak! My husband and I first tried their wine at the acclaimed Hisa Franko restaurant and we were impressed. We were able to visit the winery a few days later and it was one of the highlights of our trip. It's a small family-run winery. The winemaker was busy with bottling but his wife was kind enough to prepare a tasting for us. We had a great conversation with her about wine and Slovenia. She shared some tasty snacks so that we didn't have to taste on an empty stomach.The wines were just as amazing as those we tasted at the restaurant. As we were able to try more of their wines we found them all to be of the same high quality. We were happy to see the very reasonable prices of their wines so we gladly purchased a few bottles to take with us.

We visited family Šumenjak and were absolutely amazed by their wines and hospitality. They showed us around and we were able to taste 8 different wines! For anyone interested in orange wines, this is the perfect spot to visit. The wine tasting was accompanied with local snacks, which were absolutely delicious. The family Šumenjak also prepared us a meal, so we were able to enjoy a full day of experiences at the vineyard.Šumenjak is not only one of my most favourite wine producers but also an amazing place to visit and enjoy. Highly recommend arranging a tasting with them if you are arount in the area! Could not have wished for a better experience and day.They also produce amazing honey which is also worth trying.

Such an incredible experience! Learned lots about the production of natural vines, had great home cooked food and of course the opportunity to taste many amazing vines - bottled and straight from the barrels. Srečko and his wife are the most lovely people and made our day at their vineyard truly memorable.

Great Wine, great People! We tasted their wonderful Riesling four years ago during a Dinner at Hiša Franco. And ever since then we wanted to go to the Winery to try out the other Wines. Finally during our holiday in Steiermark we arranged a tasting. Thank you for accommodating us on such short notice. They have a great variety of vines, we especially liked the Riesling, the Sauvignon Blanc and their Cuvee „Alter“. And it is always a good sign if the Owners join in and also drink a glass during the tasting!

Amazing natural winery! Srečko and his wife (and kids) were very welcoming and invited us to taste on their patio because the weather was perfect. We loved the pet nat and Alter. We biked here from Maribor (staying overnight nearby) and this was one our favorite stops. Thank you for the delicious wine and warm hospitality!
