I don’t normally complain however my experience has been terribleI booked an Audi A3 but got a ford which was half price online...Then when I handed over my driving license for him to check he didn’t hand it back to meQueue a fair amount of waiting while he looked and wandered off for 15 mins to go and do something elseOver all I won’t be using Hertz again, I will go for enterprise or EuropcarI expected better

I rented a car as a Gold member from Hertz at Ljubljana airport for 2 months. When I turned the vehicle back in they charged me 45 euros for an extra day saying I got the car a day earlier than my reservation. There was only one staff members that handled both check in and returns. I said that was incorrect as I had their check in form that confirmed I checked in on the exact day. Also I had my Lufthansa airline information in clouding online baggage check that said I was on a flight from Munich to Ljubljana on the correct day of my reservation. The staff said the computer was accurate and would not adjust. He then had a line up of other people wanted their vehicle so I left. Be careful of your final billing as they may add on other costs that are not accurate.

Pretty easy to drop off as I had a one way. Small airport.

****DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE*****. We picked up a supposedly mid-size SUV here on July 12th. After coming out of a 12,000-kilometer flight across the world with 3 kids, we needed our car. Came to find out we were supposed to get a Seat Attacca or similar and we got some weird name CG car from China. Never heard of it and never seen it advertised on Hertz. In America this would be considered a compact SUV not mid size, we couldn't even fit our briefcases. We gave two card transactions for purchase of the vehicle, and one was for the deposit. After returning vehicle we have been emailing trying to find out about our deposit return and never got a response. We looked at our receipt and there is no statement of deposit being taken out. We bought extra damage insurance and was told by the young boy at the front desk it would cover up to 1500 Euros damages. We returned and had a small paint chip on the front from a rock or something supposedly. They told us at the front desk it would be covered by the insurance we paid for plus because there were already scratches on the front, they didn't fix from before, but I guess someone's insurance covered it or they pulled it from the deposit. ****NOW THEY ARE SAYING WE ARE LIABLE FOR CHARGES AND OUR INSURANCE DIDNT COVER ANYTHING***** I GUESS WHEN YOU RENT A CAR FROM A DIFFERENT COUNTRY IN A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS, THEY CAN SAY WHATEVER THEY WANT TO MAKE YOU BELIEVE UNTIL THE PAPERWORK DOES ITS PART AND THEY GET THEIR FEES. I would sincerely recommend people are very careful with these guys and watch their backs, very unfaithful when a receptionist lies in your face!! We have the bank carefully watching these guys transaction.

Humble and polite staff with correct knowledge.

Very unhelpful lady at the counter. I got the car with 80-90% fuel tank and I got charged for picking the car later than the booking ( delayed flight ). These people are charging as much as they can for nothing. I will avoid them for sure next time.

Do not trust these guys. I have hired a car many, many times within Europe and have had no issues (have even had pleasant experiences with other Hertz stores too), but these guys will look to take advantage wherever they can and this time we were the unlucky ones. We hired a car for a 4 day trip around Slovenia. When we returned the car back the worker claimed we had scratched 2 marks on the rim of the wheel of car and sent us a bill for 486 euros to repair. I would be very wary of using these guys and if you do make sure you spend at least 20 minutes combing over the car before you take it. Our one mistake was not taking a photo of every part of car before we left. We had a photo of most of the car; but unfortunately hadn’t taken photos of each individual wheel

They showed no willingness to resolve the issue fairly and instead resorted to intimidation tactics, insisting that I pay for the alleged damages immediately. This approach not only undermines trust but also showcases a lack of professionalism and integrity.To add insult to injury, when I sought further clarification from external sources, I discovered that Herzt Slovenia had a history of similar complaints. It became clear that I was not alone in experiencing their dishonest practices.In light of this experience, I strongly advise potential customers to exercise extreme caution when considering renting from Herzt Slovenia. It is imperative to thoroughly inspect the vehicle before renting and document any pre-existing damages. Take pictures, note any discrepancies, and be sure to keep copies of the rental agreement to protect yourself from unjust claims.Overall, my encounter with Herzt Slovenia left me feeling defrauded and disillusioned. Their attempt to scam customers by fabricating damages is unacceptable and tarnishes the reputation of the car rental industry as a whole. I strongly advise exploring alternative options to ensure a hassle-free and trustworthy car rental experience.Remember, vigilance and awareness are key when dealing with car rental companies.
